Description
Dark chocolate orange, grown up
Most chocolate oranges are sweet milk chocolate with a whiff of citrus. This is the opposite: proper 70% raw dark chocolate, with bright, natural orange oil running right through it. The citrus lifts the deep, fruity notes of the cacao instead of masking them, fresh and zesty rather than sugary. If you loved chocolate oranges as a child but want something with real depth now, this is it.
Built on our Signature Seventy
Euphoric Orange starts as our original Signature Seventy bar, raw, unroasted Peruvian Criollo cacao, sweetened with yacon and smoothed with lucuma, then we fold in a little organic sweet orange oil (0.5%), cold-pressed from orange peel. Same honest base, one bright new dimension.
Made from raw, unroasted Peruvian Criollo cacao
We never roast our cacao. Keeping it below 42°C and stone-grinding it slowly preserves both the delicate flavour and the natural compounds high heat flattens. When the Oxford Brookes Centre for Nutrition and Health tested five UK dark chocolate brands, ours came out top for polyphenols and antioxidant capacity. We didn’t add anything special to win that, we simply didn’t roast the good bits out.
Sweetened with yacon, no cane sugar
There’s no cane or refined sugar in this bar. We use a little organic yacon syrup, tapped from the root of the Peruvian yacon plant, with a glycaemic index of around 1 against roughly 68 for ordinary cane sugar, plus prebiotic fibre that feeds your gut bacteria. A touch of creamy lucuma rounds it out. The orange brings brightness; the yacon keeps it from ever turning cloying.
A treat that gives a little back
Because it’s built on raw cacao, every square brings fibre, magnesium and iron along with the flavour, plus a gentle, long-lasting lift from theobromine, cacao’s mild relative of caffeine. Like all our chocolate, it’s vegan, organic, ethically traded and made in a nut-free facility.

Euphoric Orange FAQs
What does it taste like? Rich 70% dark chocolate with a bright, fresh hit of real orange, the red-fruit notes of Criollo cacao lifted by zesty citrus and rounded by creamy lucuma. Fresh and grown-up, never sugary-sweet.
How is the orange flavour made? With organic sweet orange oil (0.5%), cold-pressed from orange peel. It’s natural orange, not artificial flavouring, which is why it tastes fresh rather than syrupy.
Is it sugar-free? There’s no cane or refined sugar at all. It’s sweetened with yacon syrup, which has a glycaemic index of around 1 (cane sugar is about 68), so it won’t spike your blood sugar the way ordinary chocolate does. It does contain naturally occurring sugars from the yacon and lucuma (9.5g per 100g), so it’s best described as low-GI and free from refined sugar rather than sugar-free.
Is it vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free? Yes to all three. It’s entirely plant-based, with no gluten ingredients and no dairy.
Is it nut-free? It’s made in a strictly nut-free facility, and every ingredient comes from suppliers who don’t handle or sell nuts. As a small-batch maker we don’t carry out end-product testing, so we stop short of an absolute legal guarantee, but nuts are never present in this product or our facility. How is it different from Signature Seventy? It’s the same bar at heart, our original 70% yacon-sweetened Signature Seventy, with the addition of organic sweet orange oil for a bright citrus twist.
How should I store it, and how long does it keep? Keep it somewhere cool and dry, out of direct sunlight. It stays at its best for around 12 months. Because we sweeten with yacon rather than sugar, the bar is a little softer and more truffle-like than a standard hard snap, that’s normal, and part of its character.
What’s the packaging made of? Plastic-free and home-compostable: a Natureflex inner film made from wood pulp, and an FSC-certified card outer printed with vegetable inks.
Is the cacao ethically sourced? Yes. It’s grown by a cooperative in the Peruvian Amazon using sustainable agroforestry, fairly traded, and wrapped in plastic-free, fully compostable packaging.
