Kind to
the Planet

We aspire to be the best ethical chocolate company we can be.

All of our chocolate bars come in completely plastic-free packaging. Both the inner film and outer cardboard are plant-based and can be composted along with your kitchen waste.

We use Natureflex bags to keep our bars fresh. This is made out of cellulose from wood pulp produced on sustainable plantations, and is certified home-compostable. For more information, please see https://www.natureflex.com/

The outer wrapping is colourfully decorated with vegetable inks, and printed on FSC certified card. FSC certification ensures that products come from responsibly managed forests that provide environmental, social and economic benefits.

Mr Popple's Chocolate Compostable and plastic free packaging
There are many benefits to compostable packaging: compostable packaging can be made from renewable plant-based materials and breaks down over a few months, just as other natural materials do. It’s an environmentally friendly alternative for plastic, which takes hundreds of years to break down in landfill sites - or even longer when it ends up at sea!
With compostable material you can compost organic waste to create compost rich in nutrients, which you can even use on your own garden or farm if you wanted to.

All of our eco packaging material, including the packaging we use to post out all orders, is completely environmentally friendly - everything we use is plastic free and made from either paper, card, or wood pulp. Even our parcel tape is made from gummed paper, instead of plastic based tape.

We use recyclable cardboard for our outer shelf cases you can see in our independent retailers, and aim to reuse these wherever we can.

Did you know... composting is not only an environmentally safe fertiliser, but it can help you save water, energy, fuel and money.
